He was predeceased by : his wife Linda Mae Roberts Goatley; his daughters, Belinda Garland and Stephanie Goatley; his siblings, Dot Ivie, Betty Cash, Martha Elliott and Algene Goatley; his grandson Troy Thompson; and his parents, Carl Goatley and Ruth Goatley.
He is survived by : his children, Jay Goatley (Jane) of Lawrenceburg, KY, Cindy Futch (Dave) of Mayfield, KY and Mary Ethel Seay (Jimbo) of Mayfield, KY. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
