She was predeceased by: her siblings, Martin Lee Wright, Everett Lawrence Wright, Cora Belle Hatton, Lucille Wright Grant, Edna Woods and Frances Etheridge.
She is survived by: her spouse Elza Stafford Gaines; her pet Buddy (Levi); her children, Deborah Marie Gaines, Timothy Stafford Gaines (Terrie), Elza Steven Gaines and Richard Clayton Gaines (Andonya); and her adoptive daughter Melissa Faye Ballinger. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bessie's memory to a charity of one's choice.
