He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Alfred and Ida Belle Tincher Metts; his wife Faye; and his siblings, Grover, Leon, Lena May, Louise Bill and Joe Bill.

He is survived by: his son Cliff Metts (Gina); and his grandchildren, Dalton Phillips and Chelsea Metts.
