He was predeceased by: his former wives, Frances Louise Morgan Peavler and Romey Sasser Peavler; and his brother Hanley Peavler, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Walter Norrell Peavler (Becky) and Julia Shea Peavler Tyson (Donnie); his sister Agnes Parman; and his grandchildren, Matthew Peavler, Amelia Peavler, Ryan Phillip Peavler, Daphne Tyson and Trey Tyson.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
