He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ralph Sowney and Dorothy Klett Sowney. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Righter Sowney; his sons, Kyle Sowney (Amy Goosetree Sowney) of Mount Juliet, TN and Todd Sowney (Tina Crabtree Sowney) of Kingston Springs, TN; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Jessica, Victor and Frances; his siblings, Carol Datz (Bill), Karen Capanna (Jay), Donald Sowney (JoAnn) and Bill Sowney (Kathy); his mother-in-law Virginia Righter; and his sister-in-law Judith Righter Bender (Bob) of New Jersey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
