He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer T. Buchanan and Hettie Dee Russell Buchanan; his siblings, Lucy Mae Gent and Louis Blaine Buchanan; and his nephews, Danny Gent, Kenny Buchanan and Jeff Buchanan.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Ruth Buchanan of Evansville, IN; his nieces, Elisa Gent Davison of Franklin, KY, Jackie Downey Gent of Franklin, KY and Susan Buchanan of Evansville, IN; and his nephew Jason Buchanan of Evansville, IN.
