He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Max Thompson; and his grandchildren, Hardin and Marin Steelmon. He is survived by: his wife Reva Oney Thompson; his mother Clara Etta Ford Thompson (Reva); his daughter Melissa Thompson Steelmon (Joshua); his grandchild Maverick Steelmon; his sister Cheryl Stiles (Wayne); his niece Renee Stiles; his mother-in-law Glenna Oney; and his brothers, James Oney (Lisa) and Jackie Oney (Lori).
