He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Barron and Edie Pugh Barron; his daughter Teresa Arnold; and his sister Doris Rodgers. He is survived by: his wife Candace Jackson Barron; his children, Stacy Ishmael (Brian), Chad Platt (Stacie) and Brandon Platt (Esther); and his siblings, Lewis Barron (Jackie), Mary Williams, Donna Towles, Pamela Courtney (Rodney) and Linda Rodriquez. He is also survived by grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
