He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Wells and Lillie Bailey Wells; his son Walter Wells (Jason); and his siblings, Ruby Minke, Aline Walters, Melvin Wells, Orville Wells and Martin "Pete" Wells.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Mae McDowell Wells; his children, Joy Hendricks (Jay) of Lexington, Kentucky, Charlotte Hellard (Steve) of Lexington, Kentucky, Johnnie Wells (Cathy) of Lexington, Kentucky and Angie Cobb (Claude) of Lexington, Kentucky; his siblings, Bobby Wells (Carolyn) and Helen Wells of Georgetown, Kentucky.; and also Deborah Rowe. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Due to Governor Beshear's mandate, services will be private. Face coverings and proper social distancing are required for all who attend.
