He was predeceased by: his parent William Patterson; his son Anthony D. Patterson; and his siblings, Doyle Patterson, Lois Patterson and Faye Hartman.
He is survived by: his parent Evelyn Helton Patterson; his significant other Marena Knuckles; his stepdaughters, Stacy Hamilton (Kyle) and Tonya Knuckles; his siblings, Geraldine Pickard, Josephine West, Betty Love, Tommy Patterson and Ralph Patterson; his grandchildren, Shandi Dale (Chris), Madison Knuckles, Jersey Hamilton, Treylen Hamilton and Micah Norton; and his great grandchild Lilly Dale. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lexington Humane Society.
