She was predeceased by: her parent James Johnson; her husband Durwood Brown; her daughters, Shirley Brown and Linda Brown; her siblings, Alice Johnson, Clara Bell Twyman, James Johnson (Buster), William Johnson, Leonard Johnson and Luther Johnson; and her sons-in-law, Theodore Clayton and William Hayden.
She is survived by: her parent Mildred Johnson; her children, Lovelia Clayton (Bea), Mildred Hayden, James Brown (Patricia) and Berona Massey; her brother Franklin D. Johnson; and her sisters-in-law, Catherine Johnson and Clee Johnson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and twenty-two great great grandchildren.
