He was predeceased by: his parent Oval D. Stanaford; and his stepchildren, Betty Sparks and Larry Justice. He is survived by: his parent Ann Quinn Morrison; his wife Maxine Rogers Stanaford; his daughter Kimberlie (Gregory Howard); his stepchildren, Keith Justice of Grayson, KY and Bertha McKnight (Brian) of Ironton, OH; and his brother Ernest Oval Stanaford of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
