He was predeceased by : his parents, Sidney Kelley and Mary Elliott Kelley. He is survived by : his wife Debra Hedger Kelley; his children, John Elliott Kelley Jr. (Susan), Elizabeth Sexton (Vinson), Martha Wright (Donald Pearson), Sarah Cravens (Randy), Rachel Stones (Caleb), Rebekah Arntz (Steve) and Amanda Jones (Rob); his grandchildren, Zachary Kelley, Kamala Besendorfer, Parker Kelley, Kailen Kelley, Emily Stinnett, Samuel Wright, Sydney Adams, Aaron Wright, Jack Lane, Clare Cravens, Cora Cravens, Lauren Stones, Kate Stones, Luke Stones, Cole Stones, Amy Stones, Matthew Arntz, John Arntz, Leah Arntz, Evelyn Jones, Allison Jones, Blaine Jones, Madison Jones, Adeline Jones and Mary Jones; his stepgrandsons, Dustin Sexton and Joe Sexton; and his great grandchildren, Tyson Besendorfer, Braden Besendorfer, Jake Besendorfer, Leo Kelley, Jordan Kelley, Taze Kelley, Ava Wright and Nora Wright.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Rd (3421 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY 40513). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home—harrodsburg Road (3421 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY 40513).
