She was predeceased by: her parents, Palmer Abshire and Mabel Abshire; and her husband Calvin Carpenter. She is survived by: her children, Dale Carpenter (Kim Traywick Carpenter), Helena Carpenter, Cherryl Carpenter Louallen (Stan Todd), Donna Carpenter Emerson (JR Emerson) and Valerie Carpenter Coslett (Frank Coslett).
