She was predeceased by: her parents, William Herman Wendt and Pluma Gladys Reimer Wendt. She is survived by: her husband Douglas Jay "Doug" Petersen of Clarksville, TN; her son William D. "Bill" Petersen (Rachel) of Clarksville, TN; her brothers, Larry Wendt of Daleville, VA and John Wendt of Sun City, AZ; and her grandsons, Cody James Petersen, Douglas Cole Petersen and Liam Thomas Petersen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
