He was predeceased by: his parents, Duncan Shemwell and Mavis Boren Shemwell; his wife Judith A. Shemwell; and his siblings, Ronald "Ronnie" Shemwell and Wilma Shemwell.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Hotson (Aron) of Hopkinsville, KY and Scott L. Shemwell of Hopkinsville, KY; his sister Linda Dorn (Jeff) of Aberdeen, SD; and his grandchildren, Cadence Michelle Hotson and Donovan Christopher Hotson of Hopkinsville, KY..
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home (2504 S Virginia St, Hopkinsville, KY 42240). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
