He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Whitaker and Katherine Whitaker; his wife Molly Grace Joiner Whitaker; and his siblings, William "Bill" Whitaker and Joyce Whitaker Story.
He is survived by: his children, Wesley L. Whitaker (Camille) of Hopkinsville, KY, Karen Haskins of Calvert City, KY and Jason Whitaker of Hopkinsville, KY; his grandchildren, Justin Whitaker (Debra), Morgan Franklin (Kelly), Zachary Haskins, Emily Haskins, Mollie Grace Whitaker and Olivia Haskins; and his great grandchildren, Chloe Franklin, Madison Franklin, Reagan Whitaker and Tatum Franklin.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Concord Baptist Church or Pennyroyal Hospice.
