With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley Chidsey of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shirley left this world on July 21, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Whitaker and Eula Hayes Whitaker; her husband Charles Garfield Chidsey; and her siblings, Charles David Whitaker, Joyce Robertson, Betty Jean Mayes and Mary Jane Gee.
She is survived by: her daughter Valerie Chidsey Wilson of Hopkinsville; her grandson Lance Langley (Christy Jo) of South Carolina; her great grandchild Landrey Langley; and her sister Kay Dunn of Hopkinsville.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Riverside Cemetery (119 Metcalfe Ln, Hopkinsville, KY 42240).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
