He is survived by: his wife Margaret Smith of Hoskinston, KY; his children, Carla Banegas (Jose) of Hyden, KY, Bobby and Jeremy Smith of Cumberland, KY; his siblings, Cleveland Smith of Beaver Dam, KY, Donald Wayne Hurt of Beaver Dam, KY and Ophia Simms of Beaver Dam, KY; his grandchildren, Jordan Smith (Shelby), Jeremy Smith, Joe Banegas, Brittany Banegas and Ambrianna Smith; and his great grandchildren, Landon Smith, Eli Smith and Conner Smith.
