He was predeceased by : his parents, William Elbert and Chloe Vina Perry; his wife Izetta Harless Perry; his son Johnny Ray Perry; and his siblings, Frank Perry, Jeff Perry, Earl Perry, Maxine Travis, Ella Adams, Hazel Fugate and Edith Perry Adams.

He is survived by : his children, James Darvin Preece (Lori) of Tomahawk, KY, Donetta Laffoon (David) of Lyon County, KY and Roxanna Perry of Tomahawk, KY.; and his grandchildren, Arron Laffoon and Justin Ray Perry.
