She was predeceased by : her parents, Raymond E. Bates, Sr. and Dorothy Tingle; her former life partner Russell Taylor; and her siblings, Joan Taylor and Raymond "Buster" Bates.

She is survived by : her husband Robert "Bob" Lindsay; her daughters, Khris Batts Berry (William) of Goshen, KY and Denise Batts Wisdom (Joe) of LaGrange, KY; her grandchildren, Josh Aaron, Brittney Valle, Drew Wisdom, Brendon Wisdom and Callie Wisdom; her siblings, Carolyn Brown of Lexington, KY and Noble Bates of Carrollton, KY; and her children, Linda K. Ferguson, Karen A. Hawkins, Cheryl B. Bowker and James R. Lindsay.
