He is survived by: his wife Thelma Waddell Roof; his children, Larry Eugene Roof (Belinda) of Big Clifty, KY, Douglas Ray Roof of Clarkson, KY and Lisa Nall of Cecilia, KY; his grandchildren, Melissa (David), James, Alex and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Jamari, Jacob and Zaiden; and his half-sisters, Lois Ann Suman, Doris Decker, Zonie Roof and Ruthie Johnson.
