It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Allin Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky, born in Dayton, Kentucky, who passed away on August 13, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Wiley Allin, Sr. and Helen Heckle Allin; and his brother Henry Allin. He is survived by : his children, Mike Allin (Linda) and Dottie Allin of Lexington, KY; his grandchildren, Case Allin (Caroline) and Leigh Allin Backus (Michael); his great grandchildren, Edward Allin and T. K. Allin; and his sister Margene "Bitsy" Martin.

Paul Duffy wrote a sympathy message

“Larry and I remember Ed with fondness and gratitude. We had our time with him as players and in Larry's case, also as manager. He was an understanding, knowledge coach. Easily approachable. I was on his first team at Midway and he coached us to some surprising wins. More than a coach, he was a good man. The Allin family were great neighbors and wonderful friends. When mother was living alone, Jean and Ed were great, giving us peace of mind by assisting her in her needs. Paul and Larry Duffy”
