He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas "Tom" and Lola Eads Derringer; his wife Stella Ruth Taylor Derringer; and his brothers, Bobby Derringer and William Derringer.

He is survived by: his sons, Randy Derringer of Coatesville and Tommy Derringer (Jodey) of Clayton, Indiana; his grandchildren, Mike and Chris; his great grandchildren, Thomas, Bo, Cameron and Brooklyn; and his siblings, Cindy Miller (Don), Phyllis Gibson (Dallen), Brenda DeHart, Johnny Derringer (Patty), Roger Derringer (Allison) and Junior Derringer (Sue).
