She was predeceased by: her husband Harold Newton; her daughters, Ann Sharon Bartley and Brenda Sorrell; her parents, Mary Viola Ballard Lyvers and James Albert Lyvers; her siblings, Gondola Kilner, Louise Lyvers, Leona Lyvers, Catherine Medley and Ballard Lyvers; her stepfather Joseph Jesse Cecil, Sr; and her stepsiblings, Dorothy Barnes and Joseph Jesse "Junior" Cecil.
She is survived by: her children, Jo Ann Clark (Randy) of Bardstown, Donna Sue Hensley (Danny) of Bardstown, Chris Newton (Donna) of Holy Cross, Lawrence Newton of Holy Cross and Mike Newton of Trigg County; her siblings, Rose Alice Head (Bill) of Naples, Norma Jean Wood of Shepherdsville, Shirley Miles of Bardstown and Hudie Lyvers (Edna Mae) of Louisville; and her stepsisters, Elizabeth Dennis of Mount Washington, Myrtle Denbo of Florida and Helen Hodge of Indiana. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
