He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Peter "Pete" Gauntner and Genevieve Patricia Gauntner (Dottore); and his brother Joseph "Joe" A. Gauntner. He is survived by: his sibling's children, Andrew J. Gauntner (Julie) of Mentor, Patricia "Tricia" Gauntner of Avon and Katherine "Katie" Gauntner of Avon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to The Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI in his honor.
