It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Mae Hamby (Louisville, Kentucky), who passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her son Deshawn Hamby; her father Jerry Trowel; her grandparents, Mary "Skippy" Trowel, Richard Trowel, Bertha Lee Green Hamby and Rudolph Hamby; and her aunts, Annette Hamby and Hattie White.
She is survived by: her daughter Alexis "Nunnie" Smith; her grandchildren, Ry'Lee Diarra, Jaylin Edwards, Denym Hamby and Demir Hamby; her mother Georgetta Graham (David); her siblings, Terrell Hamby (LaToya), Tiffany Valentine, JaQuita Knott, Amy Hamby (Atorian Hunter) and Quintez Trowell; and her cousins, Tamika Hamby and Denisha Duncan. She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Forest Tabernacle Baptist Church (4205 E Indian Trail, Louisville, KY 40213). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
