She was predeceased by: her parents, Ina Patti Nettles and John D. Nettles Sr.; and her brothers, John D. Nettles Jr., David Nettles and Kenneth Nettles.
She is survived by: her children, Donene Y. Hurst, Schan D. Hurst-Smith, Cecile Y. Hurst-Jackson (Kevin), Treva E. Hurst and Don M. Hurst II (Peggy); and her sister Joanna N. Smith (Walter).
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Quinn Chapel AME Church (1901 W Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40203). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
