He was predeceased by: his wife Norma Toole Saunders; his brothers, Tommy and Mike; and his son Jeff Saunders. He is survived by: his sons, Russell Saunders of San Antonio, TX, John Saunders of Cincinnati, OH and Doug Saunders of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Devin Saunders, Hannah Saunders, Andrea Saunders, Cory Saunders, William Saunders, Kellie Saunders and Edward Saunders; his great grandchildren, Lela Saunders, Ezekiel Saunders, Tobias Saunders, Caleb Krentz and Madison Chrisman; his brother Jimmy Saunders (Marty); and his daughter-in-law Mimi Saunders. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arch L Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel (8519 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40219). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at the Resthaven Memorial Park (4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218).
