He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward G. Ernst and Lillian Ernst; his siblings, Edward, Fred, Joann Givens and Rita Gerth; and his son Denny Ernst.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Ernst; his children, Molly Gourley (Brent) and Mike Ernst (Susan); his grandchildren, Elliott, Emmett Gourley, Zack, Maggie Ernst, Morgan and Christian Ernst; his sisters, Pat Andres (Henry) and Margaret Avarello (Vic); and his pet Pumpkin.
