He was predeceased by: his father Donald Schroeder; his brothers, Radford Lyles, Melvin Schroeder and Stephen Schroeder; and his extended family Jeffrey Green.

He is survived by: his wife Betty; his lifelong love Tonia; and his sibling's children, Shannon (David) and Jeremy (Lisa). He is also survived by ten great-nieces and nephews.
