He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rudolph and Mary Katherine Lovett Thompson; and his brothers, Steve Thompson and Greg Thompson. He is survived by: his close friend Louise Riley of Shelbyville; his children, Riley Turpen, Claire Turpen, Michelle Thompson and Douglas Thompson, Jr.; his siblings, Peggy Hicks and Rudy Thompson; and his siblings' children, Laura Klein and Greg Hicks.
