In the vast expanse of eternity, Gouverneur Halstead shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Gouverneur Halstead farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He is survived by: his wife Edith McFerran Courtenay (Edie); and his children, Anne N Hampton (Mike), Ted Nixon (Mary), Sally N Vail (Thorne), Edie Nixon and Sandy Nixon (Heather). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as four stepchildren, their ten children and one great grandchild.
