It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Allen Shively Jr. (Louisville, Kentucky), who passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Faye Jackson (Henry) and James Shively Sr.; and his sister Rosa Caufield. He is survived by: his children, Terrence Hughes (TeAundra), Reneka Wigginton (Cory), Charna Gaither (Eugene), James Peterson (Sarai) and Gerren Peterson; the mothers of children, Priscilla Brown and Lola Peterson; his siblings, Shirley Nelson (Charles), Renita Shively, Cynthia Jackson, Michael Jackson (Tammy), Terry Mitchell and Corey Shively; his great grandchild Pete; his close friend Millie Shouse; Meshia Shouse and Jamaica Jackson. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Quinn Chapel AME Church (1901 W Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40203). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at the Green Meadows Cemetery (3800 Shanks Ln, Louisville, KY 40216).
