He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Hughes and Dorothy Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Trish" Spanyer; his sons, James P. Hughes (Becky) and Stephen B. Hughes; his sisters, Sallie Hammons and Martha "Gussie" Thompson (Leo); and his grandchildren, Brittany Downard, Addie Hughes, Brynlee Hughes and Emme Hughes.
