He was predeceased by: his son Brian; and his siblings, Darrell, Cecil, Wayne, Geneva, Brenda and Daisy.

He is survived by: his significant other Sharon Deel (Whitmer); his son Scott Patrick (Jessica); and his grandchildren, Jillian, Ethan, Erin, Andrew and Caleb. He is also survived by his grandchildren, many nieces and nephews that loving call him "Uncle Jim" and many friends.
