She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Burton and Stella Green; and her husband J. P. Payton. She is survived by: her children, Lisa Ellison (Mark), Mark Payton (Debbie) and Ruth Ellis; and her grandchildren, John Osterhage, Derek Hall, Alison Sapp and Mark Payton, Jr. (Becky Martin). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at the Bethany Cemetery (10917 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272).
