He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewitt Armstrong and Mary Purnice Dorosity Armstrong; his children, Terry Armstrong and Sheila Armstrong Tinsley; his brother Marshall Keith Armstrong; and his great grandchild Jonathan Armstrong.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Mae Belew Armstrong; his grandchildren, Angie Yost (Larry), Shannon Armstrong-Patrick, Matthew Armstrong (Angel), Jamie Armstrong, Nicole Armstrong Fickas (Tony), Caitlin Tschanz (Ben) and Jeff Tinsley (Stephanie); and his cousin Robert Malley. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren.
