She was predeceased by: her parents, George Meter and Ruby Van Meter; her husband Samuel T. Portman; and her brothers, George Van Meter, Jr. and Tim Burk.
She is survived by: her sons, Shawn Portman (Shelly) and Samuel Portman; her grandchildren, Hayley (Thomas), Samantha, Adrianna and Thorin; and her sisters, Mary Reynolds, Brenda Burk, Shirley Awtrey and Winnie Van Meter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home (3800 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at the Evergreen Cemetery (4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213).
