She is survived by: her parents, Martha Peña and Kerli Morales; her grandparents, Olicia Hernandez, Bertha Cruz and Vicencio Morales; her siblings, Wendy Gamboa Pena and Henry Peña; her nieces, Cynthia Ruiz Gamboa, Samantha Ruiz Gamboa and Kimberly Ruiz Gamboa; her aunt Liliana Peña; her cousins, Andrea Peña, Daniel Peña, Alex Dupin, Ximena Pena and Cristian Pena; and her uncle Cristobal Pena.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243). A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243).

“I am so sorry for Kayla’s passing. She was a bright and beautiful young lady who was smart and full of personality and potential. I know she was a young woman of faith in Jesus as her Lord and Savior so I trust she is in heaven and that is my peace that death has no sting when we know she has an eternity in paradise with God. I will keep her family and friends in my prayers. I am unable to attend the visitation but my heart is with her family.”
