It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Catherine Fries of Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Mary Catherine may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Anthony Fries. She is survived by: her children, Joel Fries (Gail), Teresa Yost (Danny), Christopher Fries (Paula), Paul Fries (Deborah) and Catherine McCracken (George); and her brother Thomas Gies. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY 40205).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rosary of the Air or Right to Life.
