He was predeceased by : his father Robert Lee Chapman Sr.; his brother Bruce Chapman; and his former life partner Elizabeth "Beth" Chapman. He is survived by : his mother Mary Margaret "Maggie" McGuire; his partner Kerry Van Stockum; his daughter Alexandra Chapman; his close friend Kerry Van Stockum; and his siblings, Moira Chapman Cox (Steve Cox), Bart Chapman, Craig Chapman and David Chapman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
