With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sue Yates of Louisville, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 5, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edward Shirley, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Able (Kingery); her children, Daniel Yates and Linda Yates; her grandson Charile Yates; and her siblings, Lina Jacobs, Barney Shirley and Eula Hazel.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Y. Hart (Michael), Sandra Y. Raeber (Herman) and Raymond S. Yates; her grandchildren, Robert Yates, Brandi Yates, Jessica Yates, Kristina Bryant and Jennifer Hale; and her siblings, Fuston Shirley (Dora), Diana Shirley and Charles Shirley. She is also survived by 5 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
