He was predeceased by : his wife Dottie Fisher Axman; his parents, Mary Axman and Martin Axman; and his siblings, Martin, John, Charles, Mary (Scanlon) and Nadine (McCabe).

He is survived by : his children, Don and Anne (Brown); his son-in-law Eric Brown; his grandchildren, Madison, Trent, Grant and Ally; and his great grandchild Reagan.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 25th 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home (3711 Lexington Rd, Louisville, KY 40207). A funeral mass was held on Friday, February 26th 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (508 Breckenridge Ln, St Matthews, KY 40207). A burial was held on Friday, February 26th 2021 at the Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY 40205).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes or the Little Sisters of the Poor.
