He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorene Thomas Gant and Harry Matthew Gant; his former wife Patricia Ann Hogan Gant; his granddaughter Kelsey Bebout; and his sister-in-law Patricia Gant.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Joyner Gant; his children, Laura Bebout (Bill) of Bourbonnais, IL, Kathleen Barfield of Bourbonnais, IL, Martin J. Gant of Madisonville and Danny L. Gant, Jr. of Florida; his stepchildren, Nikki Moore (John), Karissa Arnold, Michael Arnold (Deborah), Jarrod Arnold (Mitzi) and Aaron Arnold (Cheryl); his brother Harry T. Gant of Beverly Hills, FL; his stepsister Trish; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Bebout, Danny L. Gant III (Danielle), Lauren Richardson (Kyle), Jonathan Barfield and Kayla Barfield; and his nephew Bradley Gant (Christina) of Florida. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
