He is survived by: his siblings, Vernon Johnson (Shirley) of Knott County, Donald Johnson of Melvin, Jesse Johnson (Judy) of Indiana, Larry Johnson of Knott County, Esta Reynolds of McDowell and Geraldine Hall of Melvin, Kentucky; and his close friend Lola Mosley.
