He was predeceased by: his parents, George Upton and Mary Alice Upton; and his brothers, William, Donald and Rufus Upton.
He is survived by: his sisters, Ruby, Nancy and Mary Ethel Upton; his grandson Brantley Upton; his siblings, Tom Upton (Linda), J. C. Upton (Irene), Ralph Upton, Thelma Huddleston and Ruth Upton; the mothers of children, Faye Taral and Patricia Hawk; and his close friend Debbie Upton.
