She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Sowders and Maurine Sowders (Hunter); her brothers, Ronny Sowders and Kermit Sowders; her son-in-law Christopher Brathwaite; her grandson Joshua Mowen; and her great grandchild Lilly May Mowen-Byrt.
She is survived by: her husband Sammy Wells; her children, Lisa Wells-Brathwaite of Fort Wayne and Terry Wells (Lisa) of Barnhart, Missouri; her grandchildren, Wesley Mowen, Claire, Hannah, Ellie Wells and Christena Brathwaite; her siblings, Brenda Capps (David), Sue Hopper (Connie), Sandra Irvin and Carl Ray Sowders (Patsy); and her sister-in-law Brenda Scott (Doug). She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and many special friends.
