He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Bowling and Lillian Fultz Bowling; his son Billy Gene Bowling, Jr.; and his siblings, Jackie, Danny, Arthur, Elmer, Jerry, Jimmy Bowling, Dorothy Williams, Betty Adkins and Joyce Ballew.
He is survived by: his wife Opal Rivers Bowling; his daughters, Jewell McCormick of Olive Hill, Cathy Ingle (John) of Morehead and Nancy Branham (Jackie) of Olive Hill; his grandchildren, Johnny Ingle (Jessica), Patrick McCormick, Brandon Branham and Amanda Gee (Chuck); his great grandchildren, Hunter Slone, Johanna Ingle and Aubrey Gee; and his siblings, Curtis Bowling of Morehead, Kenny Bowling of Morehead, Johnny "Bull" Bowling of Morehead, Mary Murphy of Belleville and Kay Keeton of Manitou Beach, Michigan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.
