He was predeceased by: his parents, James Middleton and Evaline Carpenter Middleton; and his siblings, James "Pete" Middleton, Marshall Middleton, Walter Middleton, Edward Middleton, Sarah Jane Kegley, Thelma Poling and Clystia Kitchen.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Middleton of Florida and Steve Middleton of Brooklyn, Michigan; his sisters, Mary Reynolds of Watkins, Dollie Sadler of Lisbon and Loretta Newlon of Mansfield, Ohio; and his significant other Lena Middleton of Elliott County. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
